Bad news: My sister managed to get a massive dent on her mp3 player, so I gave her mine.
Good news: Now I have an excuse to by another one.
What features make a successful PMP? Let's see:
- Must be able to play audio/video of various formats
- Visually appealing GUI
- Expandable memory/ card slots (not necessary, but important nonetheless)
- Bluetooth
- WiFi and browser (Don't just give me one)
- A battery life that makes mine look short (no techjunky likes to outlive their devices)
- Touchscreen (us teens love to touch -wink wink-)
I've narrowed it down to a couple devices, all of which would make me shamelessly broke should I decide to purchase one!
iPod Touch
An iPod that has reached out and touched (haha) the hearts of millions. This PMP has almost everything listed about and then some. At around $200 CAD on ebay and 229+tax else where, this is a (relatively) good deal!
Archos x series, where x is an integer greater than 4
Essentially an iTouch, only bigger, both physically and storage wise. At a minimum of 30 gigs, this PMP wipes the floor with Apple when it comes to capacity. The only downside; it's pricy. That and you need to buy the addons i.e. the Opera browser, codecs. Outrageous(ly sexy)!
Finally, the Cowon O2/Q5/S9
In my eyes, their all the same, except the Q5 has greater storage and wifi. Subpar battery life, pretty GUI, good compatability; not exactly an impulse buy.
What does it come down to? Im getting an iTouch.
